Bag (fabric) broken after just six months of use
Hi,
I've had my reflective messenger bag for about six months now, and yesterday I discovered a hole in the bottom corner and I can see the white fabric under the x-pac.
The problem is, as I told, that the bag is only 5-6 months old and hasn't been in too heavy use. I've been using it daily but for the whole end of 2008, it was pretty much just used for riding my scooter to work and back. This year it has had more as I moved to Spain and started biking everywhere. But I've still taken extremely good care of it, trying to keep it out of the floor etc. I don't have any pets either at the moment so there hasn't been anyone chewing on the bag.
This is what bothers me the most, the bag is been in pretty light use for six months, and it's already breaking apart. When I was buying the bag, I was hoping it to last years, maybe even decades, not months. Especially when the fabric the bag is made of is described as "super-durable x-pac outer panels" and "indestructible fabric". (The bag is large "Classic Messenger Covert Reflective Fabric", Black/Covert Black/Black)
The only reason I'm writing this, to be honest, is to ask whether it will get repaired or replaced or not. I filled the warranty form yesterday, but I can't really send my bag to San Francisco for a month just to find out if it well get repaired or not. I mean, of course I'll send it so you can inspect it, but I'd like to know how likely it is to get repaired or replaced.
The shipping from there to Finland took about a week, so I'm guessing from here (Spain) to there it would be a little under week. Add your 7-10 days inspection and week back and thats almost a month without my bag. I use my bag for daily commuting with my bike, for my laundry, for (grocery) shopping, for weekend trips. I can't really send it there for a month just for fun.
So if the above text was too long, just one short question. Should the fabric of your bags break after six months or not?

Inappropriate?Hi Sangrado,
Email customerservice@timbuk2.com some pictures of the hole in your bag. It shouldn't have a hole after only 5-6 months.
I’m confident

Inappropriate? No offense, but why don't we get shipping refunded when we send back a bag with a terrible mistake in it? I sent one in once because someone reused the liner, and it was full of a row of holes. I was out $20 to ship that back, and I live in the US? I understand that a warranty is great. But this was a case of being sold a bag that should have been thrown away, and I was out case to wait a month to get a replacement? (and I had to pay to ship that, one, too)
