Chest Strap anchor system!

Chest strap on Messenger clips in on one side (good) but other end just loops around the main strap. (Lower D-ring on either side, then up over the lower chest). When riding and using the chest strap the main strap connection loop of the chest strap always slides up the strap. This causes a loss of position of the bag on the rear lower back and is kind of a P.I.T.A. Has anyone thought of augmenting this connection area with a velcro patch (or other wiz-bang idea) to hold the loop in place?
