Inappropriate? The small market tote does not have a shoulder strap as the medium and large have. The size of the bag H-13.5xW-11.5xD-4.8 is designed to be a small accesories bag. The strap would be rather large for the bag. I think that you would be happier with the medium, especially if you are going to use for carrying more than just a wallet, camera, keys.
I’m sad, but hopeful

Inappropriate?Hi, I appreciate your input! I want a bag to carry to work to hold my day planner, water bottle, wallet, cell phone, sunglasses, snack, sometimes camera. Do you think this bag works for stuff other than trips to the market?

Inappropriate?I would lean towards the medium market tote. You might be able to carry those items in a small, but it would be tight. I always like a little room so I do not have things crammed in. If you want small, you might want to go with the small cargo tote because it has a zippered opening. Here is the link for you to check out:

Hope this helps.

Inappropriate? To be truthful, I carry a small Market Tote to run around with. I usually have my wallet, cell hone, a novel, my reading glasses and a Nalgen (now taller Camelback) water bottle and I love it. Granted, it doesn't have a shoulder strap but what is classified as "handles" on the medium and large is longer on a small, a 9.5" drop. So, you can sling it on your shoulder! If you are looking to carry a digital camera too, and not much else I would say you would be fine with a small if you are looking for a compact bag. If you are looking to add in a true camera and lenses I would say go medium. If you are familiar with our Messenger bag then think of the equivalent of a small bag on it's side. I do agree that if you are looking for full closure to go with the Cargo Tote. It's a pretty versatile bag.
I’m hoping this help and doesn't confuse!

Inappropriate?I love the cargo tote. I used to have a medium cargo tote, but the piping frayed and I returned it. I'm shopping for a new bag and the colors of the current cargo totes didn't excite me...I liked my old one. Anyway, I got focused on the market tote because I liked the fun fabrics and thought it would be a change from the cargo for now....and in the future when new colors are made in the cargo, I can get another one. You say you run around with the small market tote. Does it have enough room to add extra stuff or just what you 'need' to run around. My camera is a point and shoot digital, not with a big lense. I have a large Messenger bag and find it awkward as a tote type bag, but love the bag; also 2 smaller versions. I have a thing for bags! The medium market tote seems big...guess I'm hung up on the versatility of having both kinds of straps.
I’m confused

Inappropriate? Thanks for your feedback abou the Small Market Tote. I had ordered the Medium Market Tote and it was a lot larger than I had anticipated. I now have ordered the Small Market Tote and hope it is more the size that I can use. I still think I would like to use a shoulder strap though. Does the Small Market Tote have D-rings to attach the shoulder strap if you wanted to buy it separately?
