Inappropriate?I would be worried about the weight though. I found that mine caused strain after a while when I overloaded it. That said, the bag will definately outlast your back. . .
I’m convinced a backpack is less convenient, but more comfortable

Inappropriate?I got my first T2 bag in 2000 when I was a happy little freshman in college. I have a small messenger bag and it held/holds all my books and my laptop at the same time. My bag is still kickin' and it still holds my laptop, book(s), and groceries on a daily basis. Anything > a small messenger will hold anything you an think of :)
I’m confident that a messenger bag + strap pad will be comfortable and functional
