I need a bag for the HP "The Dragon" HDX notebook.
I'm having a hard time finding a backpack for the HP "The Dragon" HDX laptop. HP sells one bag that fits it, but I have seen it in person and the bag is poorly built. I don't need one that carries much more than just the laptop and power supply itself.
The dimensions for the laptop are: 18.7 (L) x 13.4 (W) x 2.3" (H)
And yes, it's big, and that's why I want something well made to protect it when it travels.

Inappropriate?Ouch Spy. I'm afraid your search isn't getting easier here. Our capacity max's out at 16x11x1.5.
Let us know if you find something that fits. -
Inappropriate?I was frustrated too, and I ended up buying a 25" rolling suitcase on closeout and added foam padding I bought from wal-mart to cusion any shock. The last step that made this a really effective travel case for the Dragon is the Styrofoam packing that was in the box it came in. It fits in snug enough that it doesnt move around and for the gap on the top between the styrofoam pieces I put another section of the foam in a pillow case. The whole thing cost me about $50.00. It is a pretty big case, but it is very secure and this isnt really a small laptop, is it?
I eventually would like a case designed especially for notebooks, but this solution lets me take my time and look for just the right one. -
Try the eBags Weekender Convertible http://www.ebags.com/ebags/weekender_...
I found it when I was looking for bags for my HDX. It barley fits but it does! -
Inappropriate?I purchased a neoprene case that is designed specifically for the HDX Dragon. It is constructed with the extra weight in mind. Check it out at:

Would love to know how well did the bag stood up, any HDX frame cracks?? -
Inappropriate? The neoprene bag works great. It's sturdy & reliable. However, I only use it locally, when I'm traveling a short distance, and only need the HDX Dragon. If I'm traveling long distances (i.e. flying) I have another custom made leather bag (called a litigation bag) by Glaser Designs, which is also study/reliable and can hold a lot more (i.e. clothing, folder, 11 x 17 papers). The leather bag is the size of a carry-on bag and I've go through airport security with it all of the time. It doesn't have wheels, but fits in an overhead compartment on an airplane.
