internal dimensions of the Timbuk2 commute(M and L)'s main compartment?
What are the internal dimensions of the Timbuk2 commute(M and L)'s main compartment (not laptop compartment)?
I would like to convert the bag into a camera bag using a TENBA Photo Insert(13 1/4"W x 5"D x 9"H), and therefore would like to know the internal specifications before purchase.

I apologize for the delay in our response. The Tenba insert is going to be a bit too wide for the Commute. I measured the internals of the large and small, and they're both about 4" deep. You might be able to squeeze it in since the bag is soft, but it would be a very tight fit. Have you considered our laptop messenger? Give us a call at 1-800-865-2513 and we can help you find something that will work with the Tenba insert.

Inappropriate?I am sad to confirm Fluffy's suspicions that the Tenba photo insert will not fit in a Commute (at least, not a Medium); even if you try to force it in.
However, I am happy to report that it will easily fit in a Medium-sized Laptop Messenger.
(To be clear, I have an older Commute, with the laptop sleeve on the inside. Having seen the newer Commute with the laptop compartment on the outside, I still don't think it's big enough to fit the insert.)
