laptop messenger but don't need laptop padding
I want a bag with a handle so the laptop messenger works. But I won't be using it for a laptop. I would be building my own - how can I make this work?

Inappropriate?By saying that you would be building your own, aren't you answering your question? Building it in the bag builder may cost more, but you could choose a colour combination not otherwise available to make it worth your while and add a grab strap.
