My messanger bag has started to ruin any clothing it rubs against.
I have a Timbuk2 messanger bag and it has absolutely ruined a pair of pants and a skirt. It pulls the fabric wherever it rubs against - I didn't realize it was the bag until I wore a brand new skirt last week and it was ruined after one day. Now not only can I not use the bag anymore, but I also need to buy new clothes.

Inappropriate?what material was your skirt? i had this rayon one that it did that to but the material was so poorly made that i didn't care -

Inappropriate?What is the material of your messenger? Ballistic or Cordura?

Inappropriate?one way of preventing this might be to wear the bag closer against your body, on your back. this will also make the bag more comfortable to wear, and distribute the weight more evenly. the commute has a padded backside, so it would be less likely to pill (or create pilling in other fabrics).
