Please introduce a Timbuk2 Diaper-Bag! Please!
It seems that I'm not the first one to be looking for such an item, but I figured it couldn't hurt to offer my opinion. Being a first-time parent, I can't say I know exactly what I'd need in a diaper-bag, but if you look at all the other offerings out there, it should be pretty obvious. Pockets and slots for diapers, bottles, food and other baby-goodies, easy to clean and maintain, durability, and perhaps down the road (I won't be too picky!) some customization options.
I don't think this would be a great stretch at all for the folks at Timbuk2, because they already offer the best bags out there. I've got 3, and they've traveled the world (and NYC) in all types of conditions, and they're still going strong. I really hope this happens sooner than later, because I'd love nothing more than one of your top-quality bags filled with my son's gear!
The more people who like this idea, the more it gets noticed.

Inappropriate?First off congratulations on your new impending addition, and for that matter that you have come to grips that you will be the person carrying the diaper-bag. I have 2 rugrats myself and I will clue you into what I use(d). If you pick apart what makes a diaper bag a diaper bag, these are essentially a carry all (see messenger) bag. Go ahead and carry your favorite Timbuk2 bag with pride, outfit it with your diapers/formula/milk etc and know that it will always keep your boy's favorite toy/blanket dry and clean. Go ahead to your favorite baby store, if you don't have one yet make sure to get one, you will be putting that cashier through college so make sure they know your first name. Purchase a wipes container and changing mat. be sure to fill with your brand of diapers and voila, you now have your very own diaper bag. Best part is that you will able to modify this to your needs, believe me you will be learning and he will be testing you constantly. Best of luck and enjoy!

Inappropriate?I was going to get a new messenger anyway (in a custom color scheme!) but I was curious- what's the general consensus with respect to the best size bag for use as a "baby-bag?"
And thanks for the kind words and great advice!
I’m grateful!

Inappropriate?I recommend a medium. I think the small might be a bit (er...) small, especially once you throw in the changing mat and box o'wipes. A medium would give you enough room to carry plenty of diapers plus a change of clothes for the little guy (just in case).
If you want, you could have an extra divider added as you go through the BYO engine, but I don't think it's necessary.
Congrats, and have fun outfitting your mega-cool, manly diaper bag.
I’m psyched for withdrew

Inappropriate?Hi! I too was in the search for the perfect diaper bag when I found out that I was having twins. Timbuk2 did not make one so I outfitted my small before they were born.
Here is a list of things that I got for it:
- Patemn Pad: http://www.patemm.com/
- One of the best things that I purchased and have (3) of them. Can fit the wipes, cream
& wipes in the pockets & for quick outtings that do not require a whole diaper bag...I
could place a change of clothes in it too.
*Recommend that you get the large size.....kids are now 2 & still use it on the road &
at home too.
-Some wet bags for wet clothes or dry ones....dirty cloth diapers...and wet washclothes to use instead of wipes.
-Pacifier holder
-Small holder for bottles.
I tried to keep it as simple as I could. I also had a bigger diaper bag for longer trips.
Now that the kids are 2...I keep a diaper bag packed (with everything that I think that I could ever need) in the car for emergancies. But I am now (daily) just carrying a small market tote. With the help of Jamie at timbuk2, I was able to get the extra shoulder strap D-Rings added (THANKS JAMIE). And boy what a difference it has made to be able to wear it like a messenger bag.....but to have it hang down long wise...when I have to run after them. My bag has the following inside:
1. My stuff.......wallet, keys, palm phone, ipod, misc bag with small things....everything that I would carry in a purse
2. Patemn Pad (Diapers(6) & Wipes & even an extra pair of pants stuffed into a pocket for each)
3. Pack of wipes for those messy hands
4. (2) sippy cups
5. (1) kaloo orange kitty....& (1) bahbah
6. snacks
7. misc stuff
One other thing that I like about the market tote is that it is open & I do not have to fool with trying to open it to get something out.
I agree that it would be great for them to make a diaper bag, but with a little imagination...you can create one for yourself and still be able to use it after you do not need it anymore....or even better.....they could use it for school...if it is not a large one.
I will have to post pictures of this bag & its contents.
Hope this helps.
I’m happy
