The nylon I'm familiar with, what is the herringbone material like? Looking at the blogger...

Inappropriate? The Herringbone is an upholstery grade fabric with a rub rate of 50,000+. Basically, it's as abrasion resistant as the upholstery used for bus and theatre seating.
All our specialty fabrics are treated with a durable water resistance on the exterior fabric that will help to keep the face fabric dry. This exterior treatment, along with our TPU liner make the bag completely waterproof for all your stuff on the inside.
We're working on putting additional product images up on the website this week. In the interim, I threw a closeup shot of the Herringbone fabric onto flickr for your reference: http://www.flickr.com/photos/timbuk2/...
The Herringbone is my hands-down favorite new fabric for Spring.
Hope that helps.

Inappropriate?I bought the Commuter bag in Herringbone. The fabric is really really nice. Highly recommended. I just wish there was a more "every day" bag in this fabric as well! I'm looking forward to seeing what materials the new diaper bags they're working on will come in!
