UPS have mislaid my order...what are my options?

I placed an order for a custom messenger to be delivered to the UK but UPS have lost my order. I failed to get a notification email that my bag was on it's way and so missed the 1st and 2nd delivery attempts due to work.

I arranged via UPS to deliver on a day I would be at home but nothing turned up. After repeated calls to UPS it turns out they have lost the package. They are investigating this at the moment but I would like to know what Timbuk2 can do if my bag is indeed lost.
