What Color is the inside of the commute and are there any new colors coming soon?

Its almost the end of February 2008... when are the new colors coming out for the laptop messenger or the build a bag?????? I read in the blog its "Feb 2008" and I have been waiting all month.

The colors and patterns are not very inspiring. I visited both pre-made and the custom built area. I'd like something professional, cheerful, and feminine. The gray liner isn't very interesting either. As an accountant, I understand your constraints in not offering too many choices in order to keep the cost down, but a little different mix would be appreciated!

This is a very enticing bag indeed, but I would prefer a color besides blue. Not so worried about the interior.

Perhaps another neutral like the silver/gray palette of the Blogger?

I saw these bags at the Sports Basement here in the city yesterday and they rock! My laptop would be nicely tucked away, and still have plenty of space to carry all my junk. It's exactly what I've been looking for.
But I have have to agree (and the reason why I didn't buy one), the colors are YAWN/BORING!!!

When will we see either a Build It option or at least something more vibrant off the rack so to speak???

I would sure love some new colors to. I was pretty disappointed when totally awesome commutes came out! but with totally uninteresting colors. Black. Black. Black. Blue. Brown.

Did the rest of your color pallet get drowned by the black?

problem is, one of the things that i like about timbuk2 products is that they available in a range of colors and have a bit of character. i'm just not seeing that in the current selection. i really like the new commute design, but i want it in (to my taste) more engaging colors. i need a bag ... not sure i can wait much longer. i may end up having to go to another manufacturer to get something with a little more personality.

also... how come we're not getting any answer from timbuk2 employees on this question? when can we expect to see a broader selection with respect to colors? right now all i see is black. what's the deal?

Hi gosha, I think they subcontract the manufacture of these bags, so it's a trickier decision and therefore harder to have a quick answer on.

They said six months ago it would be about February before they'd have more news on this.

I think we've made the potential market clear, though, so I'll stick around patiently. I strongly suspect given their history that it'll be worth the wait. (Besides, can I really justify ANOTHER Timbuk2 bag in our house? Dumb question; of course I can.)
