Whats the difference between the Laptop Messenger compartment and a Laptop sleeve in terms of materials?
I have a Laptop Messenger and the Laptop compartment is made up of a corduroy material, which is also padded. Is the Laptop Compartment basically a Laptop sleeve sewn into the Laptop Messenger bag?

Inappropriate?Just as a side note - It seems unusual that the the Laptop Compartment is velcro attached and sewn into the bag! If it was just velcro attached that would have been excellent.

Inappropriate?The materials in the Laptop Messenger and the Laptop Sleeves are the same, foam padding and corduroy lining. The only difference is the Laptop Sleeves are Ballistic material on the exterior and the laptop compartment is nylon exterior.
As for the velcro, I will assume you have a custom made Messenger. The reason for the velcro, to be honest, is because when we sewed the compartment on all 4 sides our sewing team couldn't flip the bags right side out! With our overseas manufacturing plants they have a machine that switches it over for them. We're a lot more old school in our San Francisco location. The reason why we will not use velcro on top, I would believe, is because of the weight of the laptop and the weight that the compartment takes at the top. So velcro can potentially let loose. Dang gravity! -
