FTP Upload not working
Tiny Grab Mac 1.02 won't upload to my personal FTP server.
I have the server settings set up correctly. Tiny Grab gives me the green check mark, and makes the sound, but there are no files on the server, no errors received, and no upload confirmation message reported through Growl like it does when uploading to Tiny Grab server.
When I enter the preferences and give my FTP information and click "Test" it confirms that the test succeeded, but no connection attempt was logged in my server logs.

The "Test" button merely confirms validity of the username and password for the FTP server. It does not confirm the validity of the server, or existence of the path. There is currently a bug with the validation where if the server is non-existant (such as a misspelled server) it will falsely pass.
The Path field is relative to the FTP user's access, and cannot be absolute.
If there is an error log on the server, it might contain some information about what went wrong with the upload. If there is anything of interest that you believe might be of help to us, feel free to email it to me: tim@tinygrab.com

Inappropriate?Looking at the console log I am seeing what the problem is.
Tiny Grab does not like the character '@' in the password.
I changed my password on the server and all is well
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Very sorry about that!
The FTP support is a command line, so the @ was probably throwing off the command. I'm not sure how this would be fixed at this time, but it's great to see you've got it working.

Inappropriate?Similar issue with an @ sign in the username -- user@ftp.domain.com, for example... You can encode the @ using %40 tho, and it is very happy ...
I’m overcome with joy and happiness!

Inappropriate? Why you— Chandler, you blankety-blank. I had just crafted an enormous post with lots of console logs and command-line error messages... and you gave the brilliantly simple answer.
%40 for @
Should have thought of that myself. Cookies for you!
I’m ecstatic.

Inappropriate?Yea, I'm guessing the easiest fix code-wise would be for the developers to pass the username and password fields thru a URL encoding function prior to passing it to ftp on the command-line. Until then, tho, we can take it to the streets! :-D
I’m laughing
