Uploading to Personal Server: Not happenin'
I want to be able to upload the images to my own server. However, it is not letting me do it. I'm sure it is in the settings somewhere, but nothing I try seems to work. Help!

Inappropriate?Are you using in-app FTP?
When you press the Test button, it merely checks the username/password for the server given. It does not check the existence of the server, nor the path validity. Unfortunately at this time it is up to you to ensure these are correct.

Inappropriate?I am getting green lights on the test. However, when I use FileChute for example it gives me two fields:
1. Upload URL
2. Download URL
I don't have a Path field in Filechute. It is simply added onto the end of either 1. or 2.
So it might look something like this:
Upload URL: ftp://siteground400.com/public_html/tinygrab
Download URL: http://www.myreallycoolurl.com/tinygrab
Then the person can go to the download url and it will let them see the file or it can be referenced via Constant Contact or other fun stuff like that.
the website url field doesn't help me know which one to put in (and I have tried both) and the Path field does not tell me if it is the download path or it is simply the file directory (again, I have tried both).
When I click the TinyGrab radial then it works fine but it uploads it to your server. Which is not where I want it.
Thanks!
I’m hoping that was clear.

Inappropriate? You'll want to put your Download URL in the Website URL field.
sitegorund400.com goes into Server
public_html/tinygrab/ goes into Path

Inappropriate?Thanks for the clarification.
Tinygrab says that is succeeds but when I paste the link there is nothing there. What could that mean?
Thanks, btw.
I’m getting somewhere!

Not happening for me either.
Followed instructions above. Supposed upload takes a split second, pasting URL image cannot be found. Is definitely not being uploaded... -
Inappropriate?I have the same issue. I have an ftp account for tinygrab and the files should upload to the root folder. It doesn't. I also get the green arrow, but when I login to the ftp, there is nothing there. I left my "Path" blank.
Any help?
I’m confused

Does your FTP username contain an @ symbol? -
Inappropriate?Yes it does
-
Try switching the @ symbol to %40
This is a really stupid bug that I'll have fixed for the next version -
Inappropriate?Replace the @ in your username with %40. That fixed the problem for me.

Inappropriate?Trying to use my ISPs FTP for storage of snaps taken with TinyGrab.
login appears ok in prefs. regardless of what is entered in the "path" area, I get this in console: 11/8/09 8:21:30 PM [0x0-0x3d53d5].co.uk.keyoneproductions.TinyGrab[38355] ftp: Can't open `ls': No such file or directory
When taking a grab, it does its magic, says its uploaded, and gives a URL, but nothing exists.
Have tried it at root and in a dedicated folder.
FTP user name has no characters, just letters, as well as password.
Any suggestions?
-
It's not verifying the path on the server. 'ls' is just used to test that it can connect. It could technically find ls on your mac if you put it in the root folder, but that still won't help. Test is not going to test the path. Only an upload will.
Definitely try the character substitution fix. Any special characters such as @ or " or ' or \ and so on that are in either your password or username for FTP, change them to the hex value. -
Inappropriate?I got it working without the substitution fix above but then again, I didn't have an @ in my address.
I put the http://www.myreallycooladdress.com/ti... in the website URL.
I put the server in the server spot.
I put my Username in.
I put my password in.
I put public_html/tinygrab/ in the Path.
It did finally work I think I had to restart tinygrab to make it work though.
Plist refresh problem?
Anyway, I wanted to ask this lastly. I would like it to still have a tiny url. Is this possible? I really don't even care if it "processes" through your website. I just want it stored all in one place on my website. But I would REALLY love to have the short url.
Any ideas?
I’m woo hoo'ed!
