Is it possible to share the todo list with other people ?
I would like to be able to share some part of my todo list with my gf, but I don't know how to do. Is it possible ?

We have recently released Wedoist - which is project management and task management for teams. People looking for collaboration should defiantly check it out at http://Wedoist.com/
Create a customer community for your own organization
Plans starting at $19/month

I have some ideas in this regard. But I don't know if it will be possible to share tasks / projects directly.
Kind regards,
Amir -

Agreed -- sharing is essential. Can't use Todoist without it. Google Calendar integration would be welcome too. Google -- consider buying Todoist. Amir -- consider selling to Google, let them take integration to the next level. Spend some time on a nice warm beach. Good luck.

Darn... Sharing is really important. My mother said so and I've always found it to be true. Not being able to share is a very serious problem.
-
-
This would integrate todoist into my workplace permanently.
Sharing should be able to be modified on a per project basis.
Win!
Still like todoist, although sharing would bring it into a whole new level. -
-
Yes, I have to say that sharing is key. I was all set to get my business to use this to do list manager when I noticed there was no shared tasks. An absolute must!
Really great interface. Would be perfect with a simple shared tasks integration. -
-
not to be a contrarian, but what I love about ToDoist is its simplicity: as soon as you start getting into sharing, it adds layers not just to the interface but to the code.
In my work I have project level task lists, and need to share tasks. I am experimenting with creating single purpose userids for each project, with shared passwords. This takes the complexity out of the tool, and puts it on me. So far it is working pretty well.
The users in these groups can't handle a more advanced toolset (even zoho project), but feel reassured by the shared nature of the task list in todoist.
Maybe something could be done in the API, and someone ELSE could build a tweaked UI around it. -
-
Ideally there would be a stream-lined client version of Todoist, and then an Enterprise version that included features like Todo list sharing and Basecamp support ;-)

Thanks a lot for your input johnywhy. I think thought that a multi-user app could be designed with the same simplicity as the Todoist, one just needs to abstract away a lot of things like permissions. In most projects you will not have a permission hierarchy (and if you do, your project is probably way too complex for Todoist to handle).

Wow, this product is SO close. However, sharing is critical. I like the way Nozbe handles it:
-- Share a project with one or more people.
-- All have full access to the project and anyone can create a tasks.
-- Tasks can be left unassigned, or assigned to a particular user.
-- If someone assigns a task to you, it automatically becomes starred so you're aware of it.
I pay for their premium service, but would strongly consider switching if/when you get this added in. -

Agree - sharing tasks and a few other features could make this really take off...
-
-
This is the biggest downside of todoist.
I stopped using todoist as my primary taskmanager year ago because I needed to share my projects. -
-
I am going to write a service allowing for a limited collaboration via an external URL. Here is a google group where I will post my progress and would like to hear any suggestions: http://groups.google.ru/group/todoist...
-
-
Shoot! I'm with everyone else here. WAs going to use this for my business then realized I can't assign tasks to people.
-
-
Yeah we'd use this in our business too. I'd probably pay $10 a month for sharing and four users. I use it myself but its confusing maintaining lists for me versus everybody else.
-
-
I have to agree that sharing is key to the usability of Todoist for me. Otherwise, I'll have to go back to using RTM, which doesn't have some of the features I like about Todoist.
-
-
My issue isn't as much sharing with other people to USE, I just want to be able to share so other people can SEE my to do list.
-
-
lexi, read-only sharing you can already have with http://bizlink.ru/todoist/
I would appreciate any ideas as to further development at http://groups.google.ru/group/todoist...-
any way to format the read only sharing so that it shows the check boxes or have better formatting? the current list setup is kind of confusing. would be nice to show the check boxes
-
-
alvarez, what kind of better formating do you have in mind? please share your thoughts at http://groups.google.com/group/todois...
BTW, I'm currently working on a GWT integration and after that I might do a rewrite of the client interface, but I would like to know if people would be interested in using this project or is the Checkvist a better option? -

In case you're interesting in trying other tools which support sharing for todo lists - try Checkvist . Simple, intuitive, keyboard-oriented, import/export, shareable.
-
-
-
-
Same as others - Exporting to Excel and others os critcal as well as an easy way to share with minnions
-
-
wow thanks kirill, switching my lists to checkvist, wish there was an easier way to export them tho. checkvist is not as easy to navigate as todoist tho (i had the ctr arrow keys down to add new tasks, checkvist's are more tedious)
where are the checkboxes on checkvist? how do you mark a task completed? Looks like it is only lists but no check boxes...-
Alvarez, Checkvist is keyboard-centric. Use arrows to move selection, use space to complete the task, use Enter to add new task. See help in sidebar on the right for more shortcuts.

No one here has mentioned wedoist, which is Amir's answer to collaborative todoist.

I don't quite understand: how do you integrate todoist and wedoist? Thanks.
-

It's not as easy to create links between Todoist and Wedoist as it is to create a Gmail link in Todoist because Todoist provides a button to execute the capture of a Gmail email. But the principle is the same. You must, however, manually capture the http addresses (or hyperlinks) of either the Todoist project (or sub-project) or a page view in Wedoist.
Each project/sub-project in Todoist has its own http address which can be used as a link in Wedoist.
Each page view in Wedoist has its own http address which can be used as a link in Todoist. So you can link to the Wedoist Dashboard, a project status page, a list page, a View All list page, etc.
If using both Wedoist and Todoist, a fuller picture of projects and tasks can be attained by using the Todoist Sidebar (Firefox extension) which lets you keep Todoist open in the sidebar while viewing Wedoist as a full web page.
Hope this helps.
I'm still rather reliant on Todoist, but try to learn more about Wedoist as I go along. -

I am curious, why did you build Wedoist, and not just implement the collaboration part directly into todoist.com?
I mean todoist has all the awesome features (usability, shortcuts, project children, gadgets for anything, etc) which could REALLY come in handy in Wedoist.
I already think that todoist does by far the best job in task management (and i used for a long time other tools like vitalist, rememberthemilk and taskwriter), but if collaboration was included it would totally take it to another level!-
Agree iulian!
We would like the Todoist to grow into collaboration.
If you enable users to create 1, 3 or 10 seats under 1 account this would boost Amir business for it would justify price differentiation. It's classic way of selling online software. -
