Cannot continue - there's nothing to install!

OS X Desktop App. When I try and install it I get the following message: Cannot continue - there's nothing to install. As far as I can remember I've never installed the app before (it's not in my apps folder), so I don't think it can be clashing with an older version? I'm using Mac OS X 10.4.11. Can anyone help?
