Warn when tracking time for a task not from current day (with option to automatically track for current day)
This is a usability improvement. When I first started using the Widget, I was simply clicking tasks I had been working on yesterday and hitting the timer to get going on them. Soon I realized that it was counting the time against THAT day and messing up my reports! I don't think Desktop did this - it would reset the timer as appropriate at midnight (or so).
I would like to see:
1. A warning when I hit the Toggl button on a task for the past day (or further back) to confirm if I want to track time in a new task for today or add more time to the previous task.
2. An option to remember my choice and automatically do it in the future.
This would also address user concerns about having to type in the name of a task, since they could just edit yesterday's tasks and feel confident it's being counted against today in their reports.
Please consider this.

Inappropriate?Hi Kevin. We have plans to change this behavior. We'll disallow tracking and old task and instead of the toggl button, there will be a link to start a new task with the same name and under the same project.

this is one of the best points

Inappropriate? That sounds great and would be fine. If you could add a little link next to "Edit" and "Delete" so I could do it with one click, that would also be great.
Thanks,
Kevin
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?I did the same thing... The only thing I do is study, and I wanted to keep track of how much time I study each day. I just lost a few days of information.
Recreating the same single task everyday doesn't seem practical.
Toggl IS a great tool! But this is a huge drawback, in my opinion.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? We have plans to add the feature of "not letting the timer to continue tracking past tasks" very soon.
