I have a Tomtom one, and we did charge it from our computer. Thank you for the reply. -
Inappropriate? How do you charge it from the computer? I can't find anything in the booklet to explain how to charge.

Inappropriate? The following is a copy of instructions from TomTom Go manual regarding charging your unit.
A (9) DC power lead, with 12V cigarette lighter
adaptor. This is the normal way of providing
power to TomTom GO when it's in your vehicle.
• A (10) USB data cable for connecting TomTom GO
to a Windows PC.
When you purchased your TomTom Go you should have in the box, 2 leads, one of the leads is as above a USB cable, not only does it allow connection to your computer, it will also charge your unit.
Hope this info will help, if not, let me know
