Home 1.5 is completely useless

I downloaded Home 1.5 and received a message to update to Home 2.2. I did and my device wouldn't connect. So I contacted tech support and they told me 2.2 doesn't work with Nav 6; I have to reinstall 1.5. So I removed 2.2 and reinstalled 1.5 and - guess what - all I get is this stupid message that I need to upgrade to the most recent version of Home; the version that won't work with my device! I can't do anything with 1.5 because all that comes up is this worthless upgrade message.
