I recently purchased a high end Tom Tom GPS for my Car and it got stolen, since it is a GPS why Can't there be some type of "Lo-Jack" service to find it?

Inappropriate?GPS isn't usually a two-way communication - the GPS receiver in your hand (or on your dash) is a very precise clock along with an antenna that listens to signals from satellites.
The Lo-Jack service adds a transmitter to its GPS to send the co-ordinates received by the GPS device to the police. -
