outdated maps
Very disappointed, just bought a new tom tom 1 for my wifes birthday, and there is no way to get updated USA maps without spending a lot of money.

Inappropriate?tom tom must be getting very rich with their scams. Buying the unit is the first of a very long process of rip offs. Customer care is rubbish, its all money money money!!! Pay for this, pay for that. If their prices were cheaper it wouldn.t be bad but there is a charge for virtually everything. Back to the A-Z and mumtimap ( free!!!) for me. Stick your expensive electronic rubbish.

Inappropriate?I've had my TomTom one less than 3 weeks. Not only did Latest Map Guarantee option not work, TomTom blatantly refused to honor the guarantee.
I’m fed up with them.

Inappropriate?After using TomTom products for the past 5 years it appears to me from the comments on this site regarding the reliability of TomTom Sat Nav units that Customer service in the US is very poor. Whilst we in the UK and the rest of Europe seem to fair better. I am not saying that we do not come up with problems with the products from time to time, but we do appear to get a better response from Customer Service, we also have 2 particular good user forums that have a number of users that can give very good advice in rectifying any problems that may arise.
Without knowing what exactly TomTom said when you (Tech Guy484) called TomTom all I can advise is that you persist in contacting (by telephone) until they give you a solution to your problem.
As you have only had the unit for 3 weeks it would appear to me that you would be within your rights to return the unit to the store, this advice is based on UK law.
