The TomTom iPhone app is brilliant!
It took a while, but i've finally got it, TomTom on my iPhone!
It was well worth the wait, the entire interface works brilliantly, very easy to use.
Although the price was a bit steep (£59.99 for the UK maps), it has saved me buying a dedicated TomTom, so i've probably saved a bit of money actually.
Great job guys, it's one of the best app's on the iPhone.

Inappropriate?one thing we are curious about over here, across the pond, is if we will have to pay for map updates and such... for example, will we have to pay another 60 pound (ok, ok.. it's $100 here in the US :) in a year or two to have the map data updated?
maybe you don't know about that... maybe you know somewhere that people are talking about that?
I am VERY excited about it, but my husband is hesitant.

Inappropriate?I haven't really thought about the map updates TBH. Best case scenario is that they are just included with the incremental updates to the app, worst case is that they'll release a new version of the app every year with updated maps (a la TomTom UK & Ireland 2010 Edition).
Alternatively they might use the 'in-app purchase' mechanism that's in OS 3.0 to offer map updates from inside the TomTom app itself.
I think they probably will charge for the updates though as the mapping data itself costs TomTom quite a bit to buy in. -
Inappropriate?that is what we figured... and i think that's affordable and acceptable.
we have garmin, and the map updates are ridiculous! $80-100 EACH year!
and they aren't even that good/updated.
