tom tom one charging
i have a tom tom one - it doesn't seem to hold its charge. i have a home charger and car charge which both seem to charge it fine. when i switch it off and then go to use it again (month or so later) the battery is dead!

Inappropriate?Yes !.. Although I use mine at least once each week & I appear to have the same problem & I'm not happy.....Hopefully it won't be an epidemic, but mine has only just gone outside of their warranty....I don't expect eternal life on any item I buy, but believe Tom Tom as a 'Brand' should look at this & value their existing client base. ..... Let's not forget, they want & need our repeat business & our recommendation to others.... Tom Tom look out ! Are your competitors beating you at this ?....1 Comment

Mine has just suddenly stopped holding the charge. I see on ebay etc that one can purchase a new battery and on some sites it says a tool may be provided to open the case,but possibly not on this particular one.(the manual says you are not allowed to do this,however) I have taken off the rubber covers and am unsure how to remove the dead battery as it seems to need a special tool. PC world say to send it to Tom Tom to be mended,but if it only needs a battery why is it classed as needing mending which of course involves even more cost. Why on earth can't the battery just be replaced as with most home appliances do you think ? anyone out there to help me with this ?? -
Inappropriate?I have also had this problem, on one unit after many phone calls, it was sent off for repair and they re-placed the Main Board, worked Ok after that, but this does appear to be a common problem.

Inappropriate?I have the same problem. Do you push the on button when you plug it into the usb plug to charge?

Inappropriate?It should charge when its on and off, in both states the green light should be illuminated to show that it is charging.
