TOM TOM refuses to repair their products not under warranty
I cracked the screen on my Tom Tom GPS. Much to my displeasure, TOM TOM does not repair this device unless under warranty. Tom Tom cannot even provide a location where I can pay to have the device repaired. I have never purchased any electonic device that could not be factory repaired. They did offer me a discount on a new product. Even with the discount, it would be $100.00 more than I paid for it. I have had this product for only two weeks. The cracked screen was my problem but I was willing to pay to have it repaired. Once burned once learned!

Inappropriate?I recently bought my first Garmin since my TomTom Rider can no longer be used in a car without the memory popping out. Honestly the Garmin software is not as good, but the traffic alerts work well and Garmin will services all their units for a small fee. Its a true shame TomTom has no clue that no customer service means no customers. BTW I went with Garmin because its private labeled for BMW - another reliable brand that provides customer service.

Inappropriate?I have a Rider 2nd edition that won't turn on. It is only 9 months old but It was a Christmas present so I never had the receipt. Couldn't even pay for the repair if I wanted to. Horrible company. I have three Tom Toms, I won't be buying a forth.

Inappropriate?I have the same problem. My tom tom 720 go was a christmas present 2007. Summer of 2009 it would not turn on at all. it appears to be charging but nothing happens., I called tom tom and he said that it was not under warranty so nothing they could do, this tom tom gave me only 18 months of service approximately for the cost. I only used it occasionally, maybe at the most 10 hours of service.

Inappropriate?Isn't that the craziest thing you have ever heard? I was extremely nice and honest to the company. This is the rare occation I wish I wasn't. It is one thing to have to pay for this problem, it is another to have them tell you they won't repair their own equipment. I owned my tom tom 2 weeks when the screen cracked. They wouldn't even get me the name of someone who fixed them.

Inappropriate?I purchased a tom tom 1 months ago it appears to be charging but nothing happens a few minutes later kept freezing and then turning off over. I couldn't find its recieve, so I could not get it to work. I called the company and they say since I don't have the receipt they can't repair it. I have a question about that. Let's say, İf I buy the same model TomTom but from another shop, when I take old one tomtom to shop, will they change it within 15 days? Please if you know the answer, reply me. Thanks a lot.

I would leave comments about tomtom's arrogance on Amazon and other places. This company has an extremely poor record. -
Inappropriate?I thought my GO5xx unit was great until after it was more than two years old and suffered through yet another Cape Cod wet, rainy Summer season. I called TomTom and was told the same as others reported above. Does anyone know where Repairs are done by third parties??? This is yet another corporate example of terrible Customer Relations. Sheesh!!!

Inappropriate?Ya I told the lady a TomTom if the windshield on my car cracks should I junk the car and go buy aanother one from the same manufacture? Same principal, they won't fix my TomTom cracked screen but are telling me they will sell me a new one at a higher price than I can get it at Radio Shack. They suck!

Inappropriate?I had the same problem within 90 days of my purchase. Perhaps you are covered by your credit card. I am applying for insurance reimbursement under Mastercards's Purchase protection plan. They cover items stolen or damaged within 90 days for purchases made with your card.
