Provide waveform preview of track
It'd be very useful to have a waveform preview of the track on screen with an approximate playhead, next to the title & artist.
When you don't remember exactly how the track evolves, it helps to know if the next "quiet" moment happens, so you can mix properly with the other track.
If there's not enough precision on screen to display the entire waveform, at least 1mn ahead would be quite useful.
Thanks for your consideration!

Inappropriate?sounds good but would probably use a fair amount of processing power and I'm not sure how much overhead is left in the pacemaker as it looks like it's running Linux. Any comment Tonium?
-
Inappropriate?I would guess it could be made to use very little processing power: you don't need to compute the waveform on the Pacemaker: the editor can pre-compute it, same as for the BPM. Then the only thing the Pacemaker has to do is draw the pre-rendered waveform and overlay the playhead.

Inappropriate? But with real-time adjustment of tempo and other things like loops, cueing etc. I've got a feeling it would stack up.
-
Inappropriate?Waveform is the way forward for me.
those 2 light graphics that we currently have are absolutly useless and i think they should be replaced with 2 vertical waveforms. -
Inappropriate?I agree with Regis, it would be a huge improvement on the current graphics. Lookin forward to a possible update on this one!!
-
Inappropriate? Thanks for a good idea! I can at least promise you that we will consider it.
-
Inappropriate?Yea a waveform would be the business. A time line would be a good help also.
-
Inappropriate? There's a lot of space above and under the Song / title to provide a peak-graph for the current channel. We still need the peak meters! Although they need to be improved see my other post on the Peak Meters!

Inappropriate?Waveform preview would require an extensive work.
It sounds like a great idea and we will take this idea under consideration.
Thank you

The company thinks
this is one of the best points

Inappropriate? As stated above, the Editor could pre-calc the waveform and store it as metadata in the mp3... ~200 bytes should be enough. Piece of cake!
I’m anticipating
-
Inappropriate?surely it could pre define the waveform externally on the computer? that wouldn't be that hard
-
Inappropriate?A needle drop option would be cool too
