Problems with Topaz Plugins in PhotoLine
Hello,
all the latest generation Topaz plugins show the same problem when used in PhotoLine (www.pl32.com). Applied to the background layer they work fine, but using them on layers with transparency results in vertical banding and false colors - even in the preview inside the plugin. PhotoLine has other wise excellent plugin support ( works with 48bit images, reports EXIF data to the plugins, etc.).
I am using the windows version of Photoline and of the Topaz plugins, the problems exists on both Win XP and Vista.
Thanks in advance!

Inappropriate?Well,
the PhotoLine authors say that they cannot fix the problem from their side, because the Topaz plugins prevent their debugger from running.
It seems to be a strange problem that only occurs with Topaz plugins.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Same problem, Topaz plugins doesnt work in Photoline 64 bit.
Running on Wondows 7 64 bit -
Inappropriate?Hello Bjorn,
in 32bit mode it works on the background layer or any other layer that has transparency/alpha channel removed. In 64-bit mode it does not work at all? -
Inappropriate?It crash Photoline 64 bit
-
Inappropriate?Hi Bjorn,
Thanks for your message. Topaz has not been tested with Photoline so it is possible that they are not compatible.
We recommend that you use Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Irfanview, Paint Shop Pro or Photo Impact, as our plug-ins have been successfully tested with theses programs.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Best,
Ashley

Inappropriate? Please test the plugins in future with PhotoLine. It is the only program other than photoshop allowing 64-bit OS usage (mac and pc) and 48bit-depth image editing with plugins......and it costs a lot less.

Inappropriate?I agree
-
Inappropriate?.... or send a testing version of your plugins (one which allows them to run their debugger) to the PhotoLIne guys. The PhotoLine guys are pretty phenomenal in this regard. They fix incompatibilities even with the obscurest programs ( which the Topaz plugins are clearly not ;-) ).
I’m sad

Inappropriate?Hi Luc,
Thanks for your message. I will pass your comments on to our developers. You can also contact PhotoLine and request that they test our plug-ins.
Best Regards,
Ashley

Inappropriate? As Luc said in the first post.
The plugin(s) contain debugrestriction, so the developer of Photoline are not able to find out of the problem(s).
Developer had contacted you in january 2009, but got no answer. -
Inappropriate?+1
I would really like to use the 64bit Photoline version with my Topaz plugins.
I’m sad

Inappropriate?Hi Mike,
Thanks for message. Unfortunately at this time Topaz is not compatible with Photoline, however I can recommend another photo editing program: Irfanview. It is a free image editing program that Topaz filters have been tested with.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Best,
Ashley

Inappropriate?Hopefully the Topaz plugins can be made compatible in the near future (by both Topaz and PhotoLine).
IrfanView is a very nice image viewer - but for image editing comparing IV and Photoline is like suggesting a kids tricycle instead of a Porsche. PhotoLine line does 48 bit editing, masking, 64 bit OS support, & much, much more.
For the MAC even photoshop currently does not offer these options. -
Inappropriate?Hi Luc,
Thanks for your message. I will forward your comments to our developers.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Ashley
