Topaz Denoise incompatability with OnOne Plugin Suite 4
Yesterday, I bought a licence for Topaz Denoise and Topaz Adjust. Amizing software but, ... everytime I use Topaz Denoise prior to one of the filters of the OnOne Plugin Suite, Photoshop freezes up.
When I use the Topaz filter, save my work, exit PS CS3 and then re-open PS, then the Onone plugins work just fine.
I'm working on a Mac Pro, Leopard OS and have 12 Gb Ram memory installed.

Inappropriate?Thanks Wim,
We'll look into it to see what we can find. Any error messages?
Regards

Inappropriate? One possibility is due to conflict in multiple-CPU support. Can you do this for us:
(1) run "Activity Monitor", clear all the log.
(2) run the action that make PS freeze
(3) force quite Photoshop, it will give you a crash log. Please email the log to us. Also copy all the content in the activity monitor into an email and email us.
Thank you very much. By the way, I encourage you to email the same thing to OnOne and they should look into it as well. Ask them this question for me: "if they used Intel compiler with openMP turned on?" -
Inappropriate?I have same problem with Topaz adjust plugin on Macpro opening ANY of the OnOne plugins after using adjust, it just crashes
-
Inappropriate? As Albert described, this does indeed seem to have something to do with a conflict with the Intel multi-processor support library.
At this time, it seems we must do our effects with Topaz plug-ins, save the results, quit and relaunch Photoshop before proceeding with the other developers' plug-ins. This releases the Topaz products' hold on the library and frees it up for the others, since the library does not do this by itself. -
Inappropriate?Hi, I just wondered if there's any estimated time for a fix of this issue? Quite frustrating (I'm a new Topaz user) with Intel 8 core Mac Pro, 10 GB ram, CS4, and purchased official installations of both Topaz and OnOne. Quite frustrating since I love my OnOne and was very excited about my recent Topaz purchase, but now discover can't use both at the same time without a crash.

Inappropriate?I think we have something that could have fixed this problem. Will get back to you in a couple of days.
Meanwhile, you can work around it by:
1. make sure you have the latest version
2. disable multi-core support: Topaz DeNoise, click "Menu..." -> Preference -> Check "Disable multi-processor support" box, and restart Photoshop.
This should make our plug-in works together with OnOne's. -

Hey Albert, that worked! Thanks for the really fast response to my frustrated post. The only thing left to ask you is if these fixes can be done for the other filters as well - and where I can download them. I just purchased the whole photoshop bundle for Topaz, and the problem occurs in the others (at least in Topaz Adjust and Topaz Detail) as well. Should I post the request in another thread? -
Inappropriate?Yes please do the others, they all crash for me on too. So I have been anxiously awaiting this update.
Thanks!!
Tim
I’m grateful

I've been testing the fix above and using the other filters together with OnOne for about half the day, and so far it seems like installing the updated DeNoise even did something to the others. At least nothing I've done, with fairly heavy use of both the Topaz and the OnOne filters has crashed Photoshop so far. Keeping my fingers crossed that this was the solution. Thanks Albert! -
Inappropriate?Thank you for the feedback. We will release update for all of our plug-in for Mac early next week.
