Where is my working Topaz Adjust Software???
How does Topaz Adjust work. I have downloaded the paid version and it is on my hard drive. When I Click on any of the "T" files they each go to Photo Elements 6.0. However, when I go to Photo Elements, to the Filter tab, Topaz Adjust is not listed. I do not know how to open and use this software. What am I doing wrong??????

Inappropriate?I have resolved this problem. My Topaz adjust is working just fine with my Adobe Photo Elements 6.0 All one has to do is go to "Plugins" in the Topaz Adjust File Folder and click on OPEN. All the plugins are transferred to Adobe Photo elements 6 In the Filter tap at the top of the software screen. No further evaluation or solution required.

I'm glad you solved the problem. Let me know if there's any other issues with working with Topaz Adjust.
Thanks,
Eric -
Inappropriate?I installed it in Elements 5, but I have NO "OPEN" in the "Plugins" in the Topaz Adjust File. The only file there is tladjust.8bf, and clicking that makes Windows say "can't open the file"
-
Inappropriate?Steveo - Topaz Adjust should be accessible from within Photoshop Elements itself. You won't be able to open it as a program by itself, but it'll be in the Filters menu in Photoshop Elements.
-
Thanks for your reply Eric. It's NOT in the Filters menu. That's why I was digging around to see if I could find how to execute it outside of Elements. Is there a way to manually force it into the Filters menu. -
There's no way to open it outside of Photoshop, unfortunately. There should be no trouble with finding it within Photoshop though if it's in the right place. -
Inappropriate?Same here. I've tried to install the trial version several times. Shows up in Program Files but not under filters in the PSE5 editor. I can't find anything that appears to be an installer, but I'm not a computer genius so figure I'm doing something wrong. I'm certainly not going to buy the program if I can't use it.

Inappropriate?Steveo and Jano:
You should find a folder in this directory:
C:\Program Files\Topaz Labs\Topaz Adjust\Plugins
The only file in that folder will be tladjust.8bf. Right click that file and hit "Copy".
Navigate to your Photoshop Elements plug-ins folder, usually in this directory:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\[Photoshop Elements]\Plug-ins
Hit Ctrl-V to paste tladjust.8bf into that folder. Quit and restart Photoshop Elements and it will appear in the Filters.
Let me know if there's any further trouble or if one of the steps wasn't clear enough. Hope that helps.
Thanks!
Eric

Inappropriate? Thanks Eric. I moved the .8bf file to Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 5.0\plugins There already was a shortcut file there called topazadjust, but when I restarted PSE I couldn't find topaz in the Filters menu.
Next I tried moving the .8bf file to ....\plugins\filters where there were a lot of other .8bf files. I restarted PSE, but still no topaz in the filters menu. -
Inappropriate?Steveo,
To be honest I have no idea why this might be happening.
The only thing I can think of now is to delete the shortcut and keep the .8bf file inside the Plug-ins folder in Elements. Be sure you're quitting and restarting Photoshop Elements after all of this.
Eric
I’m confizzled

Did this work, Steveo? -
Inappropriate?Hi Eric,
Sorry to say, I tried your suggestions and other things, but nothing worked. My copy of PSE 5 came with my Wacom tablet. I wonder if those free versions are somehow different than paid versions? -
Inappropriate?I am having this same issue. I have copied/pasted exactly as listed above and tried other variations, quit and restarted Elements after each variation, uninstalled and reinstalled Topaz. My Elements version was not free, so that is not the issue.
Has anyone been able to figure this out? If we can't get this resolved will a refund be issued? This looks like such an awesome application and I would really love to play around with it, but I have been working on installation for 2 hours now....I'm a little frustrated... -
Inappropriate?I have PSE 5 and solved the problem by resetting preferences. You have to be really quick! As soon as you open the editor, I mean immediately, you have to hold down the Ctrl, Shift & Alt keys at the same time. Answer yes to the question. Can't remember exactly what it says. Hope it works for you.

Inappropriate?Photoshop use an registry for its Plug-in folder location. It is possible the registry is corrupted somehow. If you are brave (be very careful), try:
run regedit.exe
Expand the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Adobe\Photoshop Element\7.0\PluginPath
The (Default) value should be the plugin folder path that normally should be something like:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Element 7\Plug-Ins\
If it is not, you should change it to the real "Plug-in" location.
Again, don't do it if you are not comfortable of modifying registry. It may make PE not find any other plug-ins.
