What if the gender selection was actually a text field
What if the gender box was actually a text field like location and the user could put in whatever they wanted? It probably shouldn't be called gender, more like label or tagline or something like that. The wording will have to be figured out.

Inappropriate?I like sticking with gender for the name of the box, then people CAN put in anything they like, that way for any transgender people or anyone else who identifies as something not perfectly male/female, they can assign their own gender as it applies to them.

Inappropriate?Sound like a good idea. I have a few friends who might appreciate not getting stuck with just your typical male & female type labels. (I know there's several to chose from, but most, iirc are gender specific.) -
Inappropriate?That would be nice because I don't refer to myself as a gentlemen, bloke, dude, etc....I don't know what i consider myself but having it as free text would be nice.
