Ways to share - Totspot Facebook app, or email generator?
Hi there - I really like Totspot, but the fact is, few of my friends and family are joining up, especially those who don't have kids yet. Have you considered creating a Totspot Facebook plugin? How about a way to generate an email (to Outlook, for example) with the latest additions? Thanks!

Inappropriate? Thanks Tamar - we are definitely thinking through various types of integration with Facebook and other social networking platforms -- as additional ways to display your TotSpot content (e.g. via a Facebook Application) and, possibly, as a way to make it easier to join TotSpot (e.g. via Facebook Connect)...we're definitely always looking for ways to make it as easy to get your content to the people you want as possible...
As for an email generator...can you give me any more thoughts on what you're looking for? Something that sends email updates to people even though they haven't registered for TotSpot? might be interesting...? I like the idea... :)
I’m thankful that we have such great users

Inappropriate?Great idea. The only reason I'm hesitant to start using TotSpot is because I'm afraid the majority of our friends won't take the time to sign up for accounts. But if they can access TotSpot through Facebook, they'd be all over it (and more likely to use TotSpot themselves, when the time comes).
I’m hopeful

Inappropriate? We would really love to be able to share our content via Facebook. As it stands now, I have to upload the data twice. since I'm the first of our circle of friends to use TotSpot, I think this could get them to start using it.
I’m excited

Inappropriate?Joining the bandwagon. This is a potential dealbreaker for us. We have so many people who want to stay up to date on our twins. If we could pull their data into Facebook in a plug-in; problem solved.

Inappropriate? Are any of you concerned at all about the recent changes to FB/privacy/Facebook Connect. We're looking at an implementation and wanted to get some thoughts first...
-
Inappropriate?@adam: For me, no concerns... Right now I tend to post my favorite totspot photos to facebook anyway, so it would just save me time if I could post from totspot to facebook.
I'm excited to hear you're thinking of implementing fb! -
Inappropriate? No real concerns. They appear to have addressed the issue after most recent complaints about the wording of the terms of use. I can't imagine they would stay in business if they didn't continue to address the concerns raised by their very aware users.

Inappropriate?I trust TotSpot to build a solid app while protecting their user's privacy. The fact that TotSpot solicits user opinions in this forum says something about how they run their business. TotSpot is a great product with a lot of thought behind and deserves a wider user base -- Facebook is a good way to get it.
As for the Facebook privacy issues beyond TotSpot;s control, well, the rule of thumb for the internet in general is don't give out any information you wouldn't want the general public to see because you never know what security leaks will happen or what company will buy Facebook down the road.
I’m all for it

Inappropriate?Adam, thanks for asking. In general, I'm not concerned. My main worry with the privacy policy at Facebook is the possibility that I wouldn't own the rights to my own photos if I post them there, which doesn't seem to be the case, as per their help section:
"Do I retain the copyright and other legal rights to material I upload to Facebook?
Yes, you retain the copyright to your content. When you upload your content, you grant us a license to use and display that content. For more information please visit our Terms of Use, which contain information about intellectual property, as well as your privileges and responsibilities as a Facebook user."
I still hope you'll issue a Totspot facebook app.
-
Inappropriate? Thanks everyone for the replies. My hope is we'll have something soon on the FB front (not necessarily an app) but something.
Best - Adam -
Inappropriate? It would appear your competitors are racing toward the same end. Here's hoping your solution is best!
