How/when do writers get paid? (continuation from previous post)
Hi Megan,
I sunmitted a response to your posting a while ago and never heard back so I figured I'd post again...
Anyway, thanks for accepting my trips! So, now that you've accepted a few of my trips, how does it work?... If the editors accept 20 trips then you pay the writer? Or is there another step? I'm also very interested in finding out about the Community Manager opportunity (or any other potential positions) ... Do I just wait to hear from you? I currently live in San Francisco but am planning to head to Africa (all over the continent) for at least a year of traveling/working/volunteering starting around September... I see that you don't have many trips from Africa so I'd LOVE to help you add to that content while I'm there.
I'd really appreciate any advice... In the meantime, it's really fun to write trips for you... (although it would be even more fun to get paid for it!) ; )
And I have so many more ideas!
Thanks again,
Tai
PS. I still have that question from my previous post regarding the photo issue... I have a great story that I don't have a photo for (just a great postcard photo and I have the photographer's name). Should I just submit the trip without a photo? It's just really hard to picture the place without one... Let me know your thoughts.

Inappropriate?Hi Tai--
I apologize for the slow response....
About the photo... please go ahead and submit the trip and we'll see if our Photo Editor can find a photo. Unless we get the express permission for the postcard photographer, I think it wouldn't be legal for us to post his/her photo...
Do you happen to have a high(ish) res version of your Mapiri Trail photo (something 500 pixels wide or more)? If so, could you send it to trazzler@trazzler.com? I'd love to publish that trip, but the photo is a bit too fuzzy--and I doubt that we could find one that captures the masochism quite so well!
About your trips... We really liked them. Your "cold" trip ((http://www.trazzler.com/trips/chimbor...) ) is definitely in the running for this month's contest.
Here's how it works: we read the trips submitted, keep track of our favorite writers, and when we have an assignment, we offer a freelance contract (usually to write 20 trips). The contest works the same way, except the prize is a contract to write 10 trips (for $250). We generally hire community managers and "content wranglers" from the pool of freelancers and contest winners.
Thanks again for writing your trips. We're looking forward to reading more.

I’m wondering if Tai suffered any ill effects from drinking that murky water: http://www.trazzler.com/trips/users/t...
