Is Facebook not talking to Trazzler right now?
Something seems to be wrong with the Facebook/Trazzler connection. I can't find the "connect on Facebook" button that usually logs you right on; I have to log on directly. Fortunately, it looks like I can then go to my settings and go to "Facebook Connect" and log on that way - but then it looks like there are problems still, as when it starts looking up "Friends on Trazzler," that box never loads. I'm curious about this, as I've recommended Trazzler to a few Facebook friends and I wanted to track who's now on Trazzler as well. Help?

Inappropriate?Hi Kimberly--
Thanks for reporting this problem. Facebook does occasionally hang to the extent that we can't get a response from them (though you are the first to report that this caused a problem with logging in, which is good for us to know).
If this happens, reloading should do the trick (even Facebook, with its huge engineering staff, has the occasional momentary downtime, but it usually doesn't last long).
Very soon, we will be able to log you into Trazzler automatically if you have synched your account with Facebook and are already logged into Facebook--which will save you the extra step of having to click the "Facebook Connect" button.
Thanks again for taking the time to write.
best,
Megan
I’m sorry that I spelled Kimberly's name wrong the first time...

Inappropriate?Hi Megan,
The situation has gotten even worse! Now I don't get the "Connect with Facebook" button appearing ANYWHERE on Trazzler -- and I don't know why. Even more baffling, I DO see it when I am on someone else's computer.
What do you suggest?

Inappropriate?Hi Kim--
We would like to get to the bottom of this problem.
Could you let us know what your browser and version is (for example, Firefox 3.0 for the PC)?
Did you try reloading? Did that have any effect? Is this a sporadic thing or is it happening all the time?
Could you try holding down the control button then clicking the reload button to see if that solves the problem?
Thanks,
Megan -
Inappropriate?Hi Megan,
I have Internet Explorer, version 7. I have reloaded, I have held down Control while reloading, I have cleared cookies and browser history -- nothing.
I now can't even connect to facebook via "Settings" -- clicking on the "facebook connect' part simply boots me back to a page telling me how I can sync to my facebook account, and clicking on that link simply takes me to a screen saying that "Account is synced. Logout and 'connect with facebook.'" Except I can't, because I cannot find a "connect with facebook" button anywhere on the site.
Otherwise, things are fine - I can log on independantly of facebook, and post trips (I'll be posting two today, in fact, to be considered towards a freelance position), but something just seems amiss.

Inappropriate?Hi Kim--
Thanks for all of the details.
If you click "logout" on the top right corner of the page and go back to http://www.trazzler.com, are you still not seeing the Facebook Connect button? It should be in the top right corner. If it's there, can you try clicking it to see if it works?
I apologize for all of the questions, I just want to confirm exactly what's happening so we can troubleshoot more. We're in the process of streamlining these sign in pages to make it easier to connect (with two separate ways of logging in, along with synching, it's been a challenge to figure out how to make it easy).
Thanks for sticking with us.
best,
Megan

Inappropriate? No, when I click logout and go to the main trazzler page, I still do not see the Facebook Connect button at all. All I see are the words "Join or sign in" in the top right corner. When I go to the sign-in page, in the top right corner, all i see are the words "No Trazzler User Name? Join" and underneath that, the words "Don't have a Facebook Account? Join here".
the "No Trazzler User name? Join" part looks like it is in a yellow box, but there is no bottom border to the yellow box. The "Join" in that phrase is bolded, but iS not a link.
The "don't have a facebook account? Join here" part has the "join here" as a clickable link which leads to the sign-up-for-a-new-account page. That signup page has the phrase "Join with Facebook Connect instead" on top, encased in a yellow box; the "Join" is bold, but is NOT a clickable link, and there is no "facebook connect" button.
Is this something I may have to reset with Facebook? How woudl I do that?

Inappropriate?Megan,
I have an update!
Now it looks like I am just being automatically signed in via facebook when I go to the Trazzler.com site, which is...an improvement. However, now I'm back to an older problem -- the "Friends on Trazzler" portion of my page is taking forever to load, Everything else seems to be fine, though.
However, I've since noticed that the editorial staff signed on as my "friends" on the Trazzler page proper, but they weren't showing up as my "friends "when I signed on via facebook. Do the two not sync? -
Inappropriate?Hi Kimberly,
I've run into the same thing with the Friends on Trazzler script... we have an issue where returning to the page will cause the friends script to peter out causing the "loading" image to hang. We're working on fixing it this week.
Thanks for writing in... we'll get to it soon.
Best,
Adam
