Inappropriate?I've just checked the password reset and it's working ok? DId you have any issues with the password reset or did it work as advertised (until trying to to login that is?)
-
I reset my password and still does not work! -
Inappropriate? Can not log in at the moment. Password reset says it is sending an email, nothing shows up.
This occured DURING a session where I was editing a message details with respect to sending time and I got a Java nullPointer exception.
If I leave it a while I get a session expired error, then another username/password error if I retry.
I only signed up about a hour ago and was editing my first message.
I can't create a new account as the phone number I use is still on file.
This is from Opera on Linux, but my girlfriend is report a similar issue on a completely different platform -- can't log in to a newly created account.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? We found an issue relating to the session expired error. By reaching the session expired page it looks like you actually had the correct login details.
Anyway try it again now and see how you get on as we think we've solved it. I've just created a test account logged out and logged in again without problems. On this occasion types of browser shouldn't make a difference.
The nullpointer when setting the date sounds interesting, do you have any more detail on that for us?

Inappropriate?Ah -- yep. Looks fixed. Thanks! (Just tried twice to post a message to that effect here, but it hasn't shown -- I cleared my cookies).
NPE context is a bit vague, I'm afraid. It *may* have been when I was trying to add the first contact. I got part way through adding their number but didn't want them to get an intro sms or similar, so I backed out. I think I then selected them anyway from the little context list, if that makes sense.
My browser state purge prevents me from given in more details, sorry. :-(
[Also, in Opera, the login requiest for *this* getsatisfaction.com page shows up riiiight at the top of the page, not relative to the current screen -- I thought my posts had hung! cf. my two attempts to reply on this threat. Not your concern, I guess. ;-) Cheers!]
I’m thankful

Inappropriate? Thanks for that info on the Contact, that sounds like a likely place where that could have happened. Also for the insight into the concern that we might have SMS'ed the contact or spammed them in some way. We'll put something in to allay any fears, we don't spam but it's probably good to just remind people. Would that work for you?

Yep -- that would be fine. Just explaining why/how the number is needed in that context, and that you won't be harassing people with an invite a la Facebook, circa 2007. -
Inappropriate?P.S. - The login box is an issue for the folks here at GS. I posted the issue here, maybe it will get fixed..

Thanks -- (Though I wish now I'd spelled "thread" with a 'd' -- I sound creepy in that quote!). -
Inappropriate? The reason the requirement for the contacts number is mostly related to internal db consistency, when we modeled it a contact in our context without a number didn't make a lot of sense. We'll maybe revisit that I think it's been a concern for others and I don't think users generally think about it in those terms more in the aha they want a number so they can spam (I agree about facebook, feels like a gregarious spambot at times)
We also found the bug which occurs if you tried to edit the message before saving the contact, it null pointers because the contact that's related to the message isn't yet ready to be commited it tries to anyway when you update some other property of that message.
Thanks for your help with this one.
P.S. I thought about fixing 'threat' but decided to keep it your way maybe a 'sic' was in order. Anyway they responded which was nice.
