Users should be notified via email of service outages if they want

How about an email that goes out to the ones that are archiving their texts to their email when there is a service outage? I auto archive all text messages that come into my phone to TMT and then it forwards to my email which is set to auto archive on receiving. So I don't really actually know if it's working in the moment. But if I got an email a few hours/days later saying that there was an outage I'd be able to resend the messages. I very rarely visit the TMT page where they come in.
