You should wait until the airline sends you your confirmation, then forward that to plans@tripit.com. It needs to come from you, rather than from the airline, as TripIt identifies the owner of the booking based on the email address from which it is sent.

Inappropriate?I like this, but topics in Satisfaction generally do better when they're phrased in socratic fashion -- you know, question/answer. So "How do I email my information to TripIt? Can I just send it directly from the airline website?" followed by this as an answer.
Just a friendly suggestion!

Inappropriate?Though this is posted as an Idea, so a phrase or imperative would work fine. This one is just a bit long. The trick is to enter a relatively concise title, whatever the content.

Inappropriate?true enough!

Inappropriate? What if, like Flickr, everyone was assigned their own email address that you could put into the 'forward itinerary' box?
ie. missrogue123@tripit.com

This is a great idea. It would, however, require that I could get access to the "original" confirmation email also, if needed. But I suppose that could be added as a comment/attachment to the item in the itinerary. -
Inappropriate? Thanks for the idea. It's been wonderful to see TripIt's beta users suggesting so many useful features we could add to the service. As a small team, we can't get to all of them right away, but we do put them on "The List" and we're working as hard as we can to give TripIteers as many of their requested features as we can. You'll see me refer to The List frequently in my responses about requested product features, so I wanted to introduce the concept here. :-)
