Adtec Soloist 2 Support?
Is anyone out there using an Adtec Soloist 2 with Cablecast or have a suggestion for a decent MPEG2 video server for under 4k ? Out of the box capacity isn't too much of a concern as this is a stepping stone to Cablecast video servers in the future.
Thanks,
Bob

Inappropriate?Bob,
While we did at one time support the Soloist servers, continued problems with reliable, concurrent playback (as you read in the other thread) caused us to change our mind.

Chad, You must be mistaken about the product in question. You have never been authorized to support Adtec Digital's Solost 2 product. Sorry I did not correct you sonner. Regards,

Chris,
In fact we did get full cooperation from Adtec, back in 2004, to support the Soloist. To put a finer point on it: each individual Soloist was very reliable. It was just that every individual Soloist that we encountered had different responses to commands we were sending it.
We may have been dumb or misinformed. Regardless, it wasn't working for us.
If you would like us to pull our control module for your video server, let us know and you can consider it done. We'll let our existing Soloist customers know. -
We actually dropped support for the Soloist in Cablecast 4.4. The control module is not longer in the software. -
Inappropriate? Thanks for the speedy reply Chad, We hope to purchase the Cablecast video server next year but would like to have a video server solution for this year. Anything that you can suggest for under 4k?
Thanks, Bob
