Announcing Cablecast 4.5.0

Tightrope Media Systems is pleased to announce the release of Cablecast 4.5.0!

This release includes some new control modules, some schedule/autopilot user interface enhancements, a revamped DVDImport utility, and a whole slew of bugfixes.

Feature - 293: New InstallAware installers
New installers allow for easier upgrading in the future

Feature - 307: New AutoBugReport privacy policy/settings

Users can now choose how much information is sent to Tightrope when an error occurs

Feature - 447: WebUI uses new version numbers
Version numbers are fetched from the compiled assembly, rather than being hard coded

Feature - 457: New VSX Control Module

Feature - 467: Schedule now displays which runs have/haven't been sent via Autopilot
Each run displays a "status dot" corresponding to sent/unsent runs

Feature - 396: EnseoAlchemyCM uses multiple search paths to locate content
You can now specify multiple search paths for video content by separating paths with a colon (:)

Added adjustments for audio normalization and dynamic compression, a progress bar, better re-encoding and re-multiplexing capabilities.

Feature - 669: Live streaming servers can configure input devices
Live streaming servers can now use more than one device, configurable in the application configuration file.

Bug - 764: VSXCMEventThread wasn't being stopped when Control Module Service stopped.

Bug - 445: Bad HTML rendering in critical section warning screens
No longer writes extra HTML to the ControlModuleSets and ControlModuleHosts screens

Bug - 446: InputRecord type is not marked as Serializable (Setup.Location.Inputs.Edit)
Code updated to serialize this type

Bug - 290: Changing the IP Address causes .NET Remoting to stop working
Fixed by switching to .NET 2.0

Bug - 671: DVDImport can cause video and audio to lose sync
A small miscalculation was being compounded in long files, causing the audio to slowly get out of sync with the video.

Bug - 675: A Show's crawl text doesn't get "Bumped"
The crawl's start time wasn't taking the bump into consideration.

Bug - 677: DVDImport has an unhandled exception while reading a corrupt DVD
Added some error handling around critical areas.

Bug - 682: Video servers don't initialize outputs when more than 2 cards are installed
The video server output cards need to be initialized differently when there are several cards in a server.

Bug - 706: Panasonic AGIA232TCCM stop/rewind commands are not sequenced properly
Occasionally, the control module fired a rewind before a stop, which causes subsequent runs to not play the correct show. Added locking to ensure that commands are sequenced properly.

Bug - 716: Cablecast Service crashes when attempting to unregister a non-existant TcpChannel
Added better error handling, and better checking to see if channels had already been unregistered.

Bug - 744: Increase ASP.Net timeout value in web.config file

Bug - 753: Network access fails in Cablecast dashboard widget
Added a security setting to allow dashboard widgets to have network access

Bug - 661: DVDImport Progress Bar has out of range error
Fixed small bug with the progress bar

Bug - 662: DVDImport does not always use the correct temp folder
If not specified otherwise, the DVDImport will now use the Windows TEMP folder by default.

Bug - 667: DVDImport creates unusually large files when multiplexing certain DVDs
An incorrect parameter was being used in the multiplexer. Wasn't using VBR when it should have been.

Bug - 619: HttpException occurs when writing Html footer
This error happened when a user closed the browser window before a webpage had finished being written to the browser.

Bug - 632: DVDImport needs to obey program chains
Added PGC support which leaves previewing content in a broken state (it is permanently disabled in the UI).

Bug - 498: ManualRuns in schedule cause persistant Null Reference errors
Improved errorchecking when dealing with manual runs in the schedule (introduced in case 467)

Bug - 499: Reporting: Export Data throws error
Added checks to ensure that output directories exist

Bug - 509: Public site calendar errors when you switch dates
The page now re-registers with the WebService on postbacks

Bug - 408: DVD Importer swaps L/R channels
Added a flag to the .config file to swap channels if necessary (MPEGEncodeOptions)

Bug - 414: When AJAX status fails for a device/CMHost, the remaining statuses fail too
Missing a javascript file in the installers

Bug - 469: Small ForceMenu doesn't consistently display output status
Now consistantly displays status, even if some outputs fail

Bug - 484: RS422 Control module is not cueing timecode properly
Fixed a rounding error when calculating cue times

Bug - 488: Compix DSK software resets Genlock to TV from VCR on startup
Added a setting in the .config file to choose between TV or VCR genlock

Bug - 490: EnseoAlchemyCM is randomly stopping causing Object not set to instance of an object
Added code to reinitialize the driver when errors occur

Bug - 335: Duplicating a Show doesn't copy the Media name
Now, when you duplicate a show, the media name for the duplicated reels is kept, with an additional "duplicate" tag so you can tell the original and duplicate media apart.

Bug - 352: Special chars in DVD Importer cause an error
Invalid characters are now removed from filenames before asking to save

Bug - 385: SonyDVP777CM can leave the serial port in-use when an error occurs
Now explicitly closes the port when an error occurs

Bug - 386: Leightronix not obeying LgxDisable2Way setting
Added missing code to some Lgx devices to disable 2way communication, and cleaned up the code for other Lgx devices

Bug - 395: Forcing a digital file to play without entering a Show ID causes error
No longer searches for a show when an empty string "" is entered
