We are pleased to announce FIVE software releases today, including FrontDoor 5.3.2, Carousel 5.2.4, Cablecast 4.7.9 & 4.8.2 and DVD Import 5.0.1! Please read through all of the release notes to view all of the refinements made in each release.

The FrontDoor 5.3.2 release contains improvements to time synchronization, distribution of Server Timeout values and the 5.0 Migration Tool. To reap all of the benefits of 5.3.2, an upgrade to Carousel 5.2.4 and Cablecast 4.8.2 are required (see Bug 3768).

Bug 3740: Login page can throw a Null Reference exception when refreshing after an error.
The error page now redirects to the main menu if the error has been cleared.
Bug 3620: Tightrope Time Sync does not turn off Windows Time Sync
Fixed some inconsistencies in how we handled time synchronization within FrontDoor.
Bug 3741: 5.0 Migration Tool uses and out of range date value when migrating TimeSync table
Now using the correct date values when migrating data to the 5.0 database schema.
Bug 3768: FrontDoor server security setting doesn't update the timeout values in Carousel or Cablecast
The Server Timeout value in FrontDoor's server security settings is now correctly applied to Carousel and Cablecast. This fix requires Carousel 5.2.4 and Cablecast 4.8.2 to be effective.
The Carousel 5.2.4 release includes improvements to DisplayEngine behavior, the iCal adapter, optimized caching for non-admin users, support for proxy servers and well as a host of other issues.

Carousel now uses proxy server setting from Internet Explorer.
Bug 3762: Bulletins scheduled late day1 to early day2 don't show
Carousel will now warn a user if they attempt to schedule a bulletin overnight, that they have to create two bulletins with two schedules (one up to midnight, and the other from midnight on the next day).
Bug 3707: Web UI runs slow for user's with zone tags as their only domain
The list of available zones for each user are now cached when the user first logs in to Carousel, rather than being re-calculated on each page load.
Bug 3708: Interactive Alert bulletins do not go into Alert mode
Interactive Alert bulletins are now managed from the Active Alert Bulletins list instead of Active Bulletins list, as all other Alert bulletins are managed.
Bug 3796: iCal sorts data by room and time in Event Display bulletins
The iCal adapter sorts data by room and time.
Bug 3753: User with Media-Manage Zone Media permission cannot access the Media menu
Fixed an issue where if you had access to manage a zone's media but not your own media on that zone, you would be unable to access the Media menu option.
Bug 3698: Specific zone gets stuck on black
If the Display Engine can determine how long a video lasts, it will now skip past the video if it is taking longer than its duration to complete.
Bug 3787: Can't select a particular video in template editor
You can now select a video and the template editor will save it as the default for that video block.
New 3798: In EDS, the iCal adaptor now maps the description field from google calendar, notes field from Apple iCal
Description was added as an available database field for Event Display Bulletins.
Bug 3788: Windows error in the Display Engine when playing an video file
The Display Engine will now continue if the video helper errors while displaying video.
Bug 3755: All clocks fade out whenever any clock transitions to another bulletin
The Display Engine now properly handles fading out a clock if more than one clock is displayed at a given time.
Bug 3789: Service error PlayerAlert/EmailAlert filling TRMS Event Log
Fixed where the Carousel Service was trying to email player alerts even if the address list was empty, causing an error to be put into the log repeatedly.
Bug 3813: iCal sources with repeating events would not load in EDS
Repeating events now display in Event Display bulletins.
Bug 3626: Create-Uploaded Bulletins access right appears to give user 'Event Schedule' permission
Carousel now does not give the user the option to edit the Event Schedule when they are given the "Create Uploaded Bulletins" access right.
Bug 3715: Add permission to copy/move bulletins from the Stale and Saved list
A user is now able to manage a group of bulletins if they own all of the bulletins in the group, even if they don't have the Manage All Bulletins access right.
Bug 3705: Display Engine exits from Mouse Clicks while Interactive Running.
If there are any interactive bulletins anywhere on the channel being displayed, the Display Engine disables the ability to exit by using the mouse.
New 3794: Add link to our support website via a new 'Help' menu item
The help links in Carousel now send the user to trms.com/support
Bug 3750: Can view "crawl bulletins" on a bulletin zone
Fixed a glitch while changing zones allowed you to get to view an empty list of crawls on a non-crawl zone.
The Cablecast 4.7.9 release consists of several improvements to Live and VOD as well as changes to the Sony 777 and JVCMV232 control modules.

Bug 3773: Sony DVP777CM give 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object' when attempting to get status
Resolved an issue that was preventing the control module from getting the status of the device.
Bug 3763: Live IP Video has duplicate areas to set Connection Limit
Live Streaming now only uses the setting in the WebUI. Changes to the connection limit require the setting to be saved, then streaming must be stopped and restarted.
New 3777: VS4 reverts to composite from component after restart
It is now possible to set VS4 servers to output a YUV signal in the CablecastDeviceControl.exe.config file.
Bug 3612: JVCMV232CM does not implement RecordStop
The JVCMV232 Control Module now implements RecordStop.
Bug 3758: Some Windows Media Encoder Profiles are Corrupt
All of the Profiles (.prx files) that VOD and live streaming use are now working correctly.
Bug 3769: VOD Servers will sometimes re-transcode the same file, even if it has sucessfully been transcoded before.
VOD servers will no longer attempt to re-transcode a file that already exists.
Bug 3771: Live streaming does not always start and stop as it should
Live streaming servers will now start and stop as expected.
Bug 3804: VOD servers sometimes consume huge amounts of memory
Found an issue that when there were a large number of files yet to be transcoded that could cause the CablecastDeviceControl service to consume extraneous resources.
The Cablecast 4.8.2 release addresses VBI encoding memory leaks, last frame of video no longer displays after a stop command, installation of Quicktime 7.5.5 (due to incompatibility of QT 7.6) as well as a few others.

An incompatibility was discovered with Quicktime 7.6, the Cablecast installer will now install version 7.5.5.
Bug 3810: Add write permissions for web server on the Cablecast installer
Resolved an issue that could cause inconsistent timeouts in Cablecast
Bug 3811: Encoding with VBI enabled can cause a memory leak and eventually a failure
Encoding VBI now works as expected, and no longer causes issues.
Bug 3812: Closed caption data from Cablecast 4.7.x files does not show up on closed captioning decoders
Resolved an error in the positioning of the closed captioning data.

Added a control module for the NK series routers from Codan Broadcast.
Bug 3825: Encoding to a directory that does not exist will cause error
If the directory does not exist, it will now be created automatically.
Bug 3782: Update link of current Cablecast manual to the Help menu option
The help links in Cablecast now send the user to trms.com/support, instead of an outdated manual.
Bug 3826: SXConfiguration application crashes if SX Hardware Control restarts
The SXConfiguration application will now handle restarts of the SX Hardware control.
Bug 3827: SX servers output last frame of video after a stop command is sent
SX servers will now output black after a stop command.
The DVD Import 5.0.1 release allows import of files from a hard disk (no longer requiring optical drives), verification that all runtime prerequisites are installed and confirmation that the system’s processor meets minimal specifications to run.

DVDImport will now run if there are no optical drives (allowing you to still import from files on your hard disk).
Bug 3711: If an import takes over an hour, the time remaining is incorrect
Fixed status so the display for "time remaining" is correct when it is over an hour.
Bug 3603: DVDImport crashes on systems without SSE2 instructions
DVDImport will now check to make sure a system's processor meets the minimal specifications to run.
Bug 3738: DVDImport isn't checking for runtime prerequisites
The DVDImport installer will now check to make sure the system has prerequisites installed, such as .NET, DirectX and the VC++ Runtime.
