Cablecast Pro vs Cablecast
We are looking into replacing our cablecast system.
Wondering if anyone has Cablecast Pro and what the benefits are of going with it vs just regular Cablecast. Its definetly a price jump to go with Pro.

Inappropriate?Good news!
It's not any more. There have been big changes to our Cablecast lineup. One of them was to reduce the price of Cablecast Pro down to the price of the old Cablecast system! That means that you can now get Cablecast Pro and a Carousel Player (CG-250) for about the same price as the old Cablecast-Bundle, which had the player built in. So what are the advantages?
1: Built on Windows 2003, so it's far better suited for public web site interaction (VOD and seeing the schedule from home). It can handle "unlimited" connections as well as having better security overall.
2: RAID 1 storage
3: Includes a 232422-8PT. This is an 8-port serial device that is field configurable for 422 or 232. It was not included with the Cablecast Bundle, which makes the Pro an even better deal!
4: Because of the aforementioned Windows 2003, Cablecast Pro can handle more channels of Carousel, making it suitable not only for more channels on the air, but also for people who want to add signage to their building.
Remember: In September we'll start shipping the SX video servers. These come with Cablecast and the Carousel Framework. If you don't need this added capability, then you can just go with the built-in abilities of the new servers.
