Cablecast Seizing
We have a three channel license with Cablecast. Is there a way to only send one of these channels at a time to autopilot?
We are also experiencing a lot of locked up slides in our carousel. Basically all the channels will be frozen on one slide. We have also noticed a lag in Cablecast every once in a while. It really slows down to a crawl when choosing a menu item. What is causing these issues?

I have this problem too. It takes a minute or two to open up the force menu. I don't use this function often, but usually the times it is needed is when something wrong has happened that needs to be fixed quickly. -
Inappropriate? We have had slides lock up on our Carousal. It has become part of our weekly procedure to reboot our Cablecast machine which runs the Carousal. We have also had problems with our Leightronix TCD/IP getting the autopilot information so I have to reboot the Leightronix periodically. My electricity went out over the weekend and I had to come into the office to reboot the system. The Carousal display engine didn't automatically launch.

Inappropriate?Folks, I have been experiencing these issues for quite some time now. I reboot our system approx. every 2 weeks, just to say I did it. A reboot is usually precipitated by the "Coming Up" and "Repeat" slides failing to show, and other strange happenings with the bulletin board. Tightrope is aware of these issues, and has been working for quite some time to find the problems and correct them.
Occasionally my TCD-IP doesn't receive an autopilot send, and I must resend it. I've never been able to determine why.
As for the Carousel not autoloading at boot, that should be an easy fix. Tech support should be able to take care of that for you. I do recommend a large UPS to power your complete system.

Inappropriate?I have a question about how many of you with this issue are running the weather as a crawl in the Carousel. I have noticed that it seems when my system freezes that the weather is outdated, like it had problems talking to the website and timed out everything. Don't knon if that may have something to do with it. I have let Chad know what I was thinking already. Any update Chad?

Inappropriate? We have a TCD/IP which I would love to throw out the window attached to the vendor who sold it to us.
Do the latest firmware upgrade to the TCD/IP - the latest fixes include the TCD/IP talking like a chatterbox to your DHCP server. This way the network knows it is there. Otherwise, your DHCP server can put that IP addy back into the pool and all other devices thinks its not there anymore...
That's what Leightronix tells me anyway. I did the update and haven't had a problem since. I also made all devices within the chain of playback visible to the internet so the times of all devices are very close to eachother (a couple seconds). But frankly, removing the TCD/IP seems likely to be a few seconds off from the Tightrope stuff as all of these devices have a time drift. Removing the TCD/IP from the chain and letting Cablecast control your devices with a USB to multi-serial device to do control should give much less black spots here and there.
I can't wait to get our TCD/IP out of the loop. It can be used for other stuff in other locations and I wont have to deal with it anymore... -
Inappropriate?Cablecast Seizing:
It's actaully Carousel, unless you have some other kind of info that we don't know about. There is something network related that is happening with Carousel that is kicking our butts. We'll get it fixed ASAP, but right now we're working on a temp fix.
In general, rebooting your automation system should never be something that you have to do. Unfortunately, that has been necessary as of late. We're really sorry that that is the case. Stay tuned...

Inappropriate?Sorry Andrew you are correct there hasn't been an issue with the Cablecast here. It is all in the Carousel I just added to this topic.
