Cablecast VSX not playing sound for .mov file
The technician at my local cable station ingested a .mov file I gave him into the station's Cablecast VSX server, and while the video portion of the file is playing fine, there is no sound playing.
Here are the details of the file:
DV, 720 x 480 (640 x 480), Millions
16-bit Integer (Little Endian), Stereo, 48.000 kHz
We discussed what might be going wrong, and he said that it's his understanding that the VSX should be able to play .mov files correctly.
We're still trying to troubleshoot this, so we'd appreciate any insights you can offer.
Bottomline: Should the Cablecast VSX be able to seamlessly play .mov files. or do I need to burn MPEG2s to a DVD instead?
Thanks.

Inappropriate?Check that the encoded frame rate is 29.97 fps and NOT 30 fps. This has been known to cause loss of audio on a channel that requires a system reboot to correct.
Scott wrote a cool utility that verifies files and does frame rate and sample rate conversions if there is a problem. I have used it with great sucess with MPEG2 files and I believe it may also work with SOME quicktime files, although I have not tried it with them.
