Carousel engine isn't displaying AGAIN? :(
our Carousel player isn't working. The last time Joe helped me, but it's out again. I checked the issue and it's not the same as last time. We are getting a lot of complaints from our residents. Please help!!!

I just upgraded to 5.2.5 and losts players also on the Carousel server side. On the player side I can't see any channels. The player upgrade worked well and says it can contact the server fine............just 0 channels when I have 7 ? Any ideas or history on this related issue ? Thanks in advance1 Comment

Hmm, what server address is listed on the player configuration screen? Is it localhost? Or is it the address of the main Carousel server? If the player is pointing to localhost (and the server software happens to also be installed on the player), you'd end up seeing 0 channels. So, double check that the address is pointing to your official Carousel server, where the 7 channels are set up. Does that help at all? --John -

I am running a DB server backend (2 box config) so for the upgrade should I run the new SQL builds on the DB box ? I see in the qurries now there are some new tables....... if I run the Carousel sql scripts will I over write my media............thx1 Comment Add a comment

Hmm, I guess I'm a little confused as to what your setup is... But whatever the case, the "Carousel" or "Carousel Framework" installers should be run on the main Carousel server, that is, the server that has the web site running on it. Your player computers only need the "Carousel Player" installer run on them. In other words, the "Carousel" or "Carousel Framework" installers get put on one computer, and the "Player" software can be put on multiple computers.
Running the Carousel sql scripts multiple times will not overwrite your media. --John -
Inappropriate?Great...........I will run the sql upgrade scripts on the DB server. This wil take my DB's for 5.1 to current version. I see now it will also create the new impresssions tables. If I need to reload the frontend web server again I will re-install.........thanks for your help.
