carousel upgrade on multiple cg250s
When installing software upgrades on multiple carousel cg250s, do i need to download the file directly to each machine or can i install it over the network from a cablecast sx-4?

Inappropriate?Hi sdarlington,
If you download the installer files from the updates site onto your SX-4, you can then use those same installers over the network on your CG-250s.
In other words, there's no need to download them from the updates site over and over again. You can copy them over the network, or copy them to a USB flash drive, etc.

I copied them over via a USB drive but now on restart Cablecast can't communicate with the router. Not sure if this is as a result of the upgrade but the timing is suspicious. I put in a support ticket. -
Inappropriate?We figured out the secondary problem... After the upgrade was the 1st time we restarted cablecast. Our IT dept. encouraged us to change the admin password on the computer previously but Brian at TRMS support figured out that because of this cablecast and cablecast device control had the old password and therefore wouldn't work. After updating the password under properties for both everything is back up and running. Tightrope support is great - silver assurance is worth it!
