Carousel Video
I KNOW there were warnings about this in the Carousel packaging...
and I KNOW I should check the manual...
and I now this had probably been asked before in this forum...
But I'm getting no video from either of my two Carousels. I probably disconnected the cable briefly at some point. What's the process for getting the video output active again?

Inappropriate?When in doubt reboot.
If that doesn't work, call in as I remember some setting somewhere I was told to set in some video settings somewhere.

Inappropriate?A reboot might work if the video out is connected. It's a stupid feature of the video driver. If that doesn't work, click on the driver icon by the clock. You may have to re-clone the output and enable TV out. It has caught me more than I'm willing to admit.

Inappropriate?Your advice worked, I now have video outputs from both Carousels, but now I'm confused.
On both units, the picture fills only the upper 1/4 of the screen. I went to the installation manual, page 43, which told me to select "TV Output" from the Nvidia Icon. Then, use the arrows in "Screen Positioning" to adjust the size and position of the video output. But:
1) When I click on the arrows, I can't get them to do anything.
2) I can't see the Carousel output while I do this.
I tried changing the screen resolution to 800x600, and it works for one cycle of the CG pages, then goes black and reverts to 1/4 size.
Any advice? -
Inappropriate? This one I haven't seen. There may be something specific that the tech support guys have seen, I can only tell you how I'd approach troubleshooting it.
- Reboot and stop Carousel from starting.
- Make sure the screen res is set to 800x600
- Monitor the Carousel tv output on a monitor with underscan
- Scale and position the picture with the Nvidia driver settings so the picture just fills the underscanned screen.
- SAVE the settings in the Nvidia driver. Use DEFAULT as the name if it will let you.
- Start Carousel. Does the tv out change immediately? After 1 cycle?
- If it changes after 1 cycle, kill the last slide and the bumper and retry. Note that you should be able to re-load the saved settings from the Nvidia control app.
Other than that, what version are you using? How old is the hardware? How many slides in the loop? If it's only a few, try killing everything including the bumper and trying it with one or two test slides that are standard pages created within Carousel. Be sure to save any of the existing pages before removing them from the loop.
What make/model/type of device is the first thing connected to the tv out?
May be time to call tech support. You could possibly have a problem with the video card or driver software, but I'd have to defer to them for that call.

Inappropriate? With some help from TR support, I found out why my Carousel image was only in the upper 1/4 of the picture. It was the screen resolution, which needed to be changed to 800x600. As soon as he changed it on one channel, it was fine. But he forgot to change the other channel, so I did it today from memory, from watching him!!!
Thanks again to TR support.
