Does Carousel update 5.2.4 contain the backgrounds update from 5.2.3?
Recently updated to Carousel 5.2.4. Previously was running 5.2.2. I noticed afterward on the forums that 5.2.3 had updated backgrounds and I was wondering if those updates came in 5.2.4, and how to upload them?

Inappropriate?Robert,
Due to their size, the new backgrounds have not been implemented into the installer. These backgrounds can be acquired by sending a request to support@trms.com for a download key. The new backgrounds come in four separate aspect ratios to help them fit the various sizes of zones that exist out there.
In your case Robert, you should have a download key for the new templates and backgrounds shortly.

Inappropriate?Hi Robert,
Carousel 5.2.4 should have the new Dynamic (RSS, EDS, etc) templates installed by default, just the same as in 5.2.3. After installing 5.2.4, you should see them when you create a new Dynamic bulletin.
Note that these are different from the Standard templates. Your Standard templates are not modified when upgrading the software.
Standard templates are shipped separately, in a media packages zip file that you'll need to upload manually into Carousel. This process will add the new media (backgrounds, templates, etc) to your existing set of media. The process of uploading media packages is described in chapter 17 of the Carousel 5.2.4 manual, found on our documentation page.
You can request the new media packages by asking support@trms.com for a download key. They'll send you a key to download a file named "2009MediaPackages.zip" (the name might be slightly different, but it should be similar enough to recognize).
After extracting that zip file, you'll find a handful of media packages that you can upload into your Carousel zones. The file names describe the aspect ratios that they've been built for, so for example, the "9x16-Vertical.zip" media package will look best when uploaded to a tall, skinny zone.
I hope this helps
-John
