DVD Import 5.0 gives "Microsoft Net Framework" error
DVD Import 5.0 gives "Microsoft Net Framework" error! I'm not sure what to do. It keeps saying "unhandled exception in Microsoft Net Framework" every time the program is launched. If I click continue, the program stays open but refused to import any DVDs. I've uninstalled DVD Import and reinstalled to no avail. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Is this a Tightrope Machine or one of yours? It sounds like .NET Framework isn't installed which DVD Import Needs to operate. You can find the files at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/de... or just do a google search for .net 2.0 framework redistributable. Let me know if that doesn't work!

Inappropriate?It's a tightrope machine that used to run DVD Import 4.5 until yesterday. I'm currently downloading Microsoft NET Framework 3.5 - figuring this might be the problem. Is that okay?
-
Inappropriate?Ellie,
It shouldn't hurt to install 3.5 but that code was written to work with 2.0, so you may want to try reinstalling 2.0

Inappropriate?I tried reinstalling Net Framework 2.0 with no success. DVD Import still gives me the same error :(
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system>
</system></configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Inappropriate?Ellie,
That copy/paste is perfect. I ran into this exact error this afternoon on one of my own test machines and should have an explanation on what is going on by morning. Sorry for the problem!
-Chad -
Inappropriate?I think you might need to download the latest DirectX from Microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/de... -
Inappropriate?I figured out what was wrong. I installed the latest version of Microsoft NET Framework 3.5 and it fixed the whole thing. It works perfect now..... :)
I’m happy
