Editing Public Web Site
Hi All!
Quick questions for anyone:
How do you edit the text on 'About.aspx'? Or any of the public web site in Cablecast without hacking the asp? Is there a simple config to change that text?

Inappropriate?Hi Nathan,
You can edit some basic settings of the public website by logging into Cablecast and navigating to:
Main Menu : System Settings : Channels : <Your Channel>>
In there, you can change the text that appears on the "home" and "about" pages, set some new colors, upload a banner graphic, and a few other things.
If you want to get more involved with your edits, you'll have to dive into the .aspx pages themselves. A word of caution, however: make sure to backup any changes you make to those pages, because they can get overwritten with some Cablecast software upgrades.
Hope this helps!

Inappropriate?Hi there,
Just a quick question on this same topic- I cant seem to change the colors? When I get to that page - it only has the default colors with no info on how to change them? Is there something obvious I'm missing - there is nothing anywhere to click on. Thanks!

Inappropriate?Hi Karen,
There should be little text boxes on that page with cryptic looking strings like "#007755". These strings are html codes that represent the color in the little swatch next to the text box. You can enter a new code in the text box to select a new color.
I know that "#007755" doesn't really shout "green," but there are sites on the web that can help you find the right html color code for various colors. Give this one a shot: http://html-color-codes.com/
Each of the color swatches on that site has a six digit code inside of it. For example, a red swatch has the label "FF0000". You can enter that code into the fields in Cablecast. Clicking the "refresh" link will update the swatch in Cablecast so you can make sure that the color you entered is correctly displayed.
Hope this helps! [:)]
