encoder not working
Encoder will not start encodiong, get error "Stopped f:\6666666.mpg: Initializing encoder" when trying to encode test encode 6666666. previously started encode never stops and file size continues to increase. It is up to 16 gigs for a file started last night. If I reboot the SX the file stops and the encoder responds but this has happened twice in the last two days.

Inappropriate?Dennis,
I would suggest restarting the 'Cablecast Device Control' service on the encoder. That should clear up the 'Initializing' message. If it is an SX you can manually fire an encode through the SX tray application (Green circle in system tray). Does that work? If so you probably have an error in how the Encoder is configured in Cablecast. Consult the SX setup guide to properly configure your encoder.
Under Location Settings, I/O, Devices, <your> check to make sure you have 'Stop Record' set as the end action. I am fairly confident that is why your encodes are not stopping.

Inappropriate?Oops, I missed a detail. It should have been Location Settings, I/O, Devices, "your encoder".

Inappropriate?they are both set to "stop Record" as end action.

Inappropriate?Dennis,
Thanks for the quick response. It looks like you already have a case in our support queue (6440). There are a few cases ahead of you but we will be able to look at this today.
