How can I connect Mac edit bays to SX4 w/ ethernet
I have several Mac edit bays and want to "see" sx4 drive at each to transfer media directly over Ethernet. Can't seem to get Macs to see drive or SX4 to see Macs. I am editor so step by steps if possible would be appreciated...

Inappropriate?Ok... Here we go.
1) First you need to setup a share on the VS4.
- Right click the content drive and Choose Sharing and Security
- Towards the Bottom Click New Share
- Give the Share name a descriptive name such as VS4 content
- Then click Permissions and give read and give full control to everyone(if you want to be able to write programs from your edit bays)
- Then click ok to get out of permissions and ok to create the share
- Then hit ok again and now you should see a hand holding your content drive
2)This is the most annoying step, because it could take a bit for the computers to realize each other. Best bet is to restart the VS4, and the edit station that your trying to connect to the VS4 This should force the computers to rescan the network and make the Mac see the VS4
3)To connect to the VS4 with your mac open finder and go to Network If you don't see Network choose Go from the Menu bar and then Network
Your VS4 should appear somewhere in the list with a name like Vs4600E-1023 or something similar Double click it
You are now prompted with a Authentication Dialog give a correct username and password from the VS4
**you can use the administrator username / password
**I personaly created a new user on my VS4 just for the edit station access
Now you should see whatever share you set up, click ok. And now you will be able to access the VS4 from your edit stations through finder.
Hope this is clear enough

What is the default user-name and password, I am trying to do the same I see the system on my mac but it will not give me access -
Hey Robert,
I believe the default name is 'Administrator' and the password would be 'trms' I'm sure a TRMS employee will chime in tomorrow with the details though. -
Thanks Ray I will try it today. -
Administrator/trms is indeed the default system login! -
Inappropriate? You can also drag the share to "Login Items" under User accounts to have it automount on login.
I would also advise to use separate logins for each machine. Using "everyone" can allow access to anyone with physical access to your network.
